i'm just gonna change servers. there is no way to stop it. i can only ban them afterward. at my aceboard forum i have good traffic and never ONE spammer.
in fact, now that i found out i can use phonifier on webtv to start "polls" at my aceboard forum, i almost wish i would have put this sports group over there to begin with.
i can even put a pic up on the top of that group that is either a vidcap OR a logo of my choosing.
just more stuff i could put on a homepage altogether.
i can't stand porn crap! it's embarassing. especially if i tell someone about the group, invite them, and then THAT stuff is here.
makes me mad!
anyway, if i do some experimenting with a different forum i will let you know how it goes. |

Wouldn't it be the easiest to just delete the offending post as soon as possible, and also delete the spammer's account?
People who discover the group and want to join may not find your e-mail address. |

| i had been doing that every day, condor, but then 2 at a time started showing up... and every post is from a different IP, so banning the username and even the IP didn't even slow it down. i thought the visual confirmation of a security code would stop any type of automated spamming, but i don't know how any of that works, if it is automated. i don't know what to do to make it easier. but, i also don't want porn in the group, every day, till the next time i come in and find it in order to delete it. |

| i just wrote that new "Gal" who joined us, asking if he/she would like to post with us, explaining why they cannot do so, at first. my guess, though, is that they are frustrated that they couldn't get the infamous "free porn video" to surface. |

Jim ... I was visiting some alt.discuss groups, and I found one where the owner said he was going to set up a football group in the next week. He said he didn't have time to set up a pool.
So I left a post inviting everyone over to do NFL picks. I included your message about e-mailing you or leaving you a personal message to join the group.
Maybe we'll get some new members. |
